1.     Fantasy world
[Blob]

·       The two imaginative worlds are blobs. This crystal fantasy world is a blob because it changes and stimulates the visitor’s creative mind. When the crystal structures are still, they act as a static solid structure. However, when they are clicked, the particle systems and their movement continuously modify the form of the structure. Constant change in shape, such we learned from Greg Lynn’s calculus models, makes millions of similar but unique forms in a blink of a second.
·       Activity room for children
·       Moving crystal shows continuous and constant creation of originality
·       Second life’s unique ability to fly can be our transition from the thinking box to the reading box.
·       Place to expand our imagination
·       Unreal
·       The only isolated place to separate one from the world to guide the person to his own imagination.
·       Enhance creative and innovative thinking by looking at extraordinary things
·       Acts as a creative incubator
·       If we ask for a specific blog it will show up, this way the visitor can receive information about our blog and will help with more creative thinking.
·
2.     Flexible world (world of no gravity)
[Blob]
·       Extraordinary textures with random qualities: What? Why? Gluey texture
·       To breakout of general paradigm
·       Revolving blob makes an open yet enclosed sense of space.
·       Learn to change the plan if it doesn’t work
·       Open minded towards creative idea
·       It improves creative performances
·       People can move around according to activity rather than the conventional and rather static reading room with book.
·       Inspiring creative behaviours
·       Persistence is a required key quality in terms of creativity. The difficulty of standing on the structure is a symbol for this.

 Vantage point

Centre of creative thinking/ production
·       starting point of the creative knowledge work of individuals

·       Presentation of different ideas, skills and know-how that together help develop an idea into a creative knowledge work

·       Fold – As we proceed through the platform and feel the wide range of creation, the visitor is given with different information that triggered our ideas and creations. As you fold, the form changes and produces new and unique, innovative shape. Different experience and information absorbed through this part of our ‘creative journey’, it triggers the visitor’s imagination to expand their intellectual creativity.  At the end of our fold ends up at the vantage point. This extent of folded – therefore the most creative – is the most creative origin (where all creative ideas are collected in Kaiaklo.
·       This is our only enclosed space that represents a trapped creative mind that has infinite potentials. However, what we are trying to achieve is to let the visitor absorb the creative knowledge from our blogs and journals and release the collective knowledge in the experimental stations.
·       Vantage point of creativity was designed to represent a building that is an entrance to the world of virtual creativity. We have designed this building to a level where we thought only reaches the level of creativity in real life and not embrace the different design we can do like in the creative world which emphasizes the advantages of designing in a virtual world. For example this place is on the ground and has access to the second storey. It is a building, which compromises the minimum creativity that you can design in a virtual world. This emphasizes the difference between the two worlds. We have attempted to only create creative design at the start but by coming up with

·        What we have now, we have achieved clearer connection and distinction between the two main designs.

Library Platform
( starting point of exploration: creative pathway)

·       Platform is inspired by our main idea where creativity is brought by continuous and consistent creation of originality. By starting from one point - a texture- I have branched out different variations on this texture using the Photoshop/SL and have produced 50 similar but individually unique; hence harmonizing unit.

·       The glow links all the prims together (consistency) as well as creates a path to the next destination of the library (continuity). The avatar creates its own path as they glow up each prim that leads forward (originality).
About 40-50 prims were used and with the original texture (red one).  They were produced in 5 different variations which were applied to each individual prims. Then each prim was further converted to have their original texture. I have changed almost all variables on the control panel. Some with colour overlayed, some with each side different, different transparency, different bumpiness, etc.
·       Introductory to our vantage point and experimental fantasy worlds: it triggers the visitor’s creative minds with particles and interactive elements popping up and down.
·       Bookfall is a linkage of realistic world to the creative world. The linked fall of the books represent the continuous flow of the creative mind and how we should continuously motivate our static minds.
·       From the vantage point to the other creative worlds are done by the avatar’s unique ability to fly in this virtual world. This is to show a contrast between the physical movement from using elevators and stairs to flying in the creative world, embracing more creative transportation method.

 Natural world

·       Recreational and relaxation space/we have created chairs and tables.
·       This is a transition point between analog and digital world therefore we have created analog interactive moments such as chairs and tables made out of rocks, stepping stones etc. using digital interactive momentum- texture and scripts.
·       This place of relaxation is one of many elements that are required to the creative mind.

·       The creation of this ‘natural’ relaxation point also contains a twist of the digital world. This is because the portrayal of the natural environment in the virtual world is awkward in any sense, shown by our experience in the surrounding areas in the particle laboratory.
·       We applied our textures on the grass form by sculpty paint. It works as a boundary of this ‘natural world’.

·       The ‘globe’ is a virtual theatre where it plays a rendering of the Louis Kahn library.

Real world
[Box]

·       Informative

·       Inspired by a realistic classical ‘box’ this design shows a very close link between the virtual and the real world. This similarity emphasizes the minimal creative level this world represents.
·       Realism

·       Merges with the surrounding abstract buildings

·       Introduction to 9 journals

·       This building is our way of expressing the stage of the realistic barriers in creative thinking

·       This building represents the ‘box’ in thinking outside the box

·       This realistic library formally exhibits the whole process of creating this assignment
(moving panel of our working process on the right
bookshelves with our journals on the left)
·       Solve something realistic to get to a creative point

·       Ready access to information and knowledge from 9 journals. This, together with devolved decision-making, empowers people to make new connections that spark rich and appropriate contributions.

·       Elevator idea is more like a threshold so that people go from earth (more real) to my fantasy world (SL). The transition is then less harsh.
·       Realistic portrayal of an office/library where we present all of our working process/journals.

·       Stairs in this building emphasizes the realistic aspect we have tried to show and this helps to show a clear contrast between the creative worlds we have created above.
·       The spinning screen is a glimpse of the creative world that we intend to show.

LIBRARY OF CREATIVITY

·       Library of creativity

·       Creative incubator

·       Library as a vantage point of creativity

Objective

·       Multifunctional/ multipurpose
·       Iconic to the Kaiako
·       No limits on the function of the space: space that is determined by the user-flexibility& autonomy
·       Encourage public participation/ public attention/ storage of the creativity through open yet enclosed space
·       Library as a creativity incubator: our group admires and wants to inspire the visitors of our library with unlimited creativity and innovative ideas.
·       Library that can foster a creative culture and enhance key qualities of creative people: constant and continuous act of actively thinking in innovative and creative way. (Constant and continuous creation of originality

What is creative?
-        Discovering originality from continuous and constant act of creation
-        Library as a creativity incubator that can foster a creative culture and enhance key qualities of creative people
-        Stimulates people’s creativity

Key elements
-        Openness: open to each other’s suggestions and ideas
-        Freedom
-        Trust
-        Activity
-        Diversity
-        Enabling and resourcing

Justification of the composed design ideas

I have constantly asked these questions when designing our library
-        How do we encourage creativity in the library?
-        What defines the identity and the image of your library?
-        What is my extension of idea? What have you developed from the points above?
-        Which idea was the most important factor of the design outcome?
-        What elements are appealing to the visitors?
